East Village - Shoe Repair

difficult but worth it

Hello IRC Neighbors

Can anyone recommend a decent shoe-repair place in the 'hood? (I remember dimly using one on 1st Ave near Houston, that I wasn't too keen on). It's the kind of thing where you always pass them but never remember where they are when you need them.

Thanks guys! I've got about 3 pairs of shoes/boots I've gotta deal with or risk having to shop.

There's a place on 9th street btw. 1st and 2nd (closer to 1st) on the south side of the street. I think "Shoe Repair" might be the actual name of the shop.

I had a horrible experience with the 9th st one.

Mercer Shoe Repair on Mercer between Waverly and 8th st. is superb.

What happened, Violet? I've been there a couple of times and the guy, although eccentric and at times a bit gruff, took care of my shoe-issues. He's relatively cheap. Of course, he's closed by 12 on Fri. and closed all day on Sat.

You see a sign that says "Shoe Repair" in the East Village, chances are its a former shoe repair place that now serves as a bar called "Shoe Repair."

Am I right or what?!?

Yes and I bet those "shoe repair" places no less serve their drinks in shoes instead of glasses. So, bottoms up and cheers to you my friend!

Uh. . .I thought you were going to get a job. . .
Your Mattness, I did apply for a job last week and I do plan on applying for some at other places as well. Geez...I was just joking around with you!!! You're in such a bad mood the past few days. What gives??? I still have to do some christmas shopping as well. I probably won't hear anything until after the new year. Now why don't you tell her about some shoe repair shops around the East Village where you might frequent from time to time???
