DVD Copy software

Has anybody had any success with DVD copying software? I am just about at the point where I don't think it's worth it - without a dual-layer DVD, the only ones I can back up ("back up" RIAA, ok?) are those I make myself. I don't think it's practical to go through the whole descramble, make _TS files, use 3 applications to make my copy, process as most DVD's I want I can have within a day or two from Blockbuster or a week from Netflix.

I was looking at either DVDCopy gold or Nero's Recode. Any suggestions?

It works. I've done it on Mac. It's a process, yes. Takes about an hour to burn a DVD.

It's a three step process:

1) You need to back up your DVD to your hard drive.
2) You need to prepare that file to fit on a 4.7 GB disc
3) Finally, you burn that file to your DVD.

It's a bit hard to backup a DVD with all the extra footage and menu's, but if you just want a copy of the movie only, it's GREAT.

I've done this on Mac OS X but there seems to be a LOT more options if you're on a PC. Be patient. It's totally worth it once you figure it out.
