That's right Li'l Flip, we are.
Having recently moved here from NC, I'm still very proud of my roots. And as proof: I'm plugging an event for Dirty South Improv . Those not familiar with DSI, soon will be. As a company, it has grown exponentially. In just a few short years, DSI has grown into an improv powerhouse that hosts one of the biggest and best improv festivals in the country, DSIF. DSI, while originating in Chicago, currently resides in Chapel Hill, NC where it commands an army of several hundred improvisers and thousands more as followers.
The point of all this is: DSI will finally have a permanent home, come this fall. With this theatre, DSI will help promote improv as an art form throughout the south and beyond. Zach Ward, exec. producer of DSI, has big things in store for this company. But first, a fundraiser is being held to help break ground in NC's first stationary Improv Theatre and Training School.
He has requested that all DSIers do their share in promoting the fundraiser, and that brings me to you. While you might think that being in LA you have little to nothing to do with the improv scene in NC, you are mistaken.
If you are serious about improv. Serious about it as an art form, not just "bar theatre." This applies to you. If you have been to the Dirty South Improv Festival you already know the quality of work these guys are doing. If you have not yet been, you will soon. It is increasingly becoming an annual journey that every improviser in the country wants to take.
So...If you want to contribute to our art form, in a way that will promote it's existance to the outside world, I ask you to make a contribution to DSI toward their theatre/school. Thanks for taking the time to read this important message, and if you are interested, the link below will give you more information on how to help.

Thanks again, and to borrow a phrase from Washington Improv Theatre (aka WiT), THE REVOLUTION WILL BE IMPROVISED.
Sincerely,
The Gute
