i thought I taped SNL but the clock on my vcr changed!
So I missed it! How did Rob do? How did he do Respecto and SNL in one night? Is he going to stay in Respecto?

Rob did very well. Obviously, since hes new to snl, he is given all the straitman roles, which he didnt do a bad job of at all. He did a lot better with those roles than what i usualy see on the show. And he did have a funny part in the fake comercial.

Its not a balanced opinion though because Im so used to seeing him perform, its like when he just stands there and does nothing im usually cracking up anyways. hes just a very funny guy. I do think he has a shitload of potential to become snl's top dog in a year or 2. Hes a very versatile comedian, he can play a lot of different stuff, and can do it all very well.

He never looked offstage for his lines, which is a plus. And he was featured more than Fred.

Rob's not doing Respecto on the weeks the show's live, since doing both would be impossible.

How cool was it to see Amy and Tina?!?!?! So good.

Didn't he do something similar last season? I think he called Chris parnell Chris Kattan in the first episode last season, but i'm not sure.

During the John Kerry/James Carville sketch last night, did anyone else notice that not only was Seth Myers reading Ben Affleck's lines as Ben was saying them, but he was MOVING HIS LIPS while he did it!?!?! Bizarre.

What I liked was what sounds a whole lot like Eli's very audible laugh when Baldwin asked Affleck if he had hit on Amy yet. That was funny.

Why don't they just record the intros? Why have Pardo do it live every week?
Good question. The whole live thing has its own stake in novelty, I'm sure. Plus the changes mid season would probably involve different versions. Sometimes there'd be a Smigel cartoon, sometimes there wouldn't. The sound quality is probably better. For all I knew Pardo is usually so consistent that it could have been a recording and I wouldn't have thought otherwise.

Opening sketch was 12 minutes long [last minute cut of a sketch perhaps made them do a last minute rewrite on the opening?]. I was so confused I thought they were doing it to cover up Update.

That episode was really nutty though, there was almost no running characters! Gasp! Is it because Fallon left with all his or is SNL getting back to it's satire roots?

And Riggle got a lot more air time then I thought he would [even though he deserves it]. I was disappointed though because Fred Armisen and Will Forte are two of my favorite cast members and I barely saw any of them. Them and All That former member Kenan who wasn't even in it [I didn't see him at least].

I don't know, weird beginning to a season but I have high hopes!

P.S. I never would've thought Debbie Downer would be back, the only reason it got laughs was the fact everyone was cracking up within it.
