I wish more of the workshops were fully described.
I wonder if a lot of them will fill up during Thursday registration. We can't get there until Friday.
GOD! I am SO excited about this Fesitval.

We wanted to get all the workshop listed that we currently have available. DSIF has been waiting for 6 out of 17 available, which should be be updated soon. GOD! We're really excited TOO! As for Thursday registration, nothing should fill up on that day. Make sure you are available and on-time for the Friday registration and you should be good. Let us (staff -- Zach Ward, Malinda Faber or Ross White) know if you have any questions or festival concerns.

Thanks!

some of these venues are small, will pre registration be necessary?

also, what kind of hoops must one jump through to be a member? would that be more cost efficient?

this has got to be the funniest first post on this board!

Registration for specific Saturday workshops, which are included with your festival fee,
this is the statement I'm having trouble deciphering.
it seems like there are lots of fees, not just one festival fee.
is it possible to just pay one fee? (minus additional workshops of course)

Roo-Roo did blow it up last year. I can still quote almost their entire set. Be very sad if you missed it, or buy the DVD.

Flurms disease, anyone? Pure genious, or ridiculously silly. Either way, don't miss Roo-Roo. Ralphie's Rug was also super hilarious. "Would anyone mind if I put on some incredibly sexy music?"

You are unfortunately too late to register as a full DSIF participant, but you can still sign up for individual scenework coaching on Friday 2/25 from 1-4pm if you like. That would be $20. The festival shows are cash at the door for general admission seating if that's what you're looking for. Tickets go on sale 30 minutes before showtime. If you have specific questions, email info@dirtysouthimprov.com -- the festival student route is the way to go, and should be noted for next year. We had over 300 official participants confirmed for 2005 during December.

Check ticket price details on the festival show page:

Thanks!

SEE YOU SOON EVERYONE

I really just have to say that I am SO Excited about this festival and especially the workshops. I was reading the descriptions, and like Every One seems Perfect for me and my group. I really think it's going to heighten us to the next level.
I can't wait.

DSIF KICKOFF shows were AWESOME --- SOLDOUT for all three shows, 8pm Harold Shows, 9pm Duo Cagematch (45 second scenes, I got next -style), 10pm BeDirty.com films*. We're really looking forward to some IRC groups (ie: Death By Roo Roo and Rare Bird Show) bringing the hotness to Chapel Hill this weekend.

Highfive,
theWARDEN

*props to LukeWard's "Teach Me Up Scotty" which was shown and received an overwhelmingly positive crowd response.

Workshops = whoo!
Performing = whoo!
Seeing old chummery such as Chris Conklin, Ben Wellington, everyone who has come up from NC to Philly = whoo!
Most certainly some sort of competitive alcohol = whoo!
Remembering how to play flipcup from 4-H camp 10 years ago and almost certainly reigning supreme at it = whoo!
Improv = ....uh wait, I know this.

Last night's show whipped the donkey's ass. Everyone had a great time, the films were great, the groups were wonderful (how can Chapel Hill High be so damn funny time and again?), and Zack Bly bought me a milkshake because I had a bad day. That's what improv is about, people.

Oh, and screaming at the top of your lungs during Cagematch.
