Hi all. I'm building the delclosemarathon.com site. Any suggestions let me know. Like including the application deadline! That was a good one. Thank you.

How cool to reach out to us all to build the design.

I'd love to see photography of shows from the past, the lines outside, the crowds; the exciting feel of the marathon
(but still have Del represented).
I'd love to see clear, easy navigational design to help find your way around all the shows.
I'd love to see some more information about the different venues (maybe a map that shows all of them, estimated walking time from one to another, subway and bus lines, etc.—I think most of that stuff has been online in the past)
In the past, there had been discounts at local restaurants and stuff like that. I don't know if those still happen, but if so I'd love to see that clearly explained online.
I would love to have a printable time-table of all the shows at all the venues provided.
I was at a festival recently that had a photo blog thing that people could post to, and everyone documented the whole thing, leading up to it, during it, and afterwards. I'd love to see something like that.
Maybe the ability to comment on each show?

i'll do the easy ones.
thanks for the suggests.

photos would be fun. But where? put links here to some good photos of past ones? maybe we'll make a flickr? a group photo blog would be cool. i could liberally give out passwords to people involved (so it couldn't be spammed). I wonder if there's a neat package for that already that I could add.

No comments. They're a pain and too many people just write "sorry. not funny." and shit.

Clear list of shows and timetable, printable, you'll have.

maps -- you'll have at least something simple and clean.

Dyna's gonna spruce up the current design as well. I just put this up to get the application form up.

Will,

Can there be a fart button on the website? I'm thinking an icon in the shape of an ass that, when clicked on would play a variety of different fart noises. I'd be willing to meet up to talk more about it if you want.

Let me know,
Gav

It's not THAT bad of an idea.

For photos, I'm thinking we should set up a flickr account and I put someone else in charge of it. We'll throw some choice photos of past marathons up there. And we'll assign like a dozen people to post photos of the current one as it goes, maybe? Flickr makes sense to me -- people could order prints, comment, tag -- stuff that it'd be pointless for me to recreate.

Then I could show the most recent 4 or 5 on the website somewhere.

Maybe with a fart button.

  • Google Map of recommended local restaurants.
  • Show itinerary: choose the shows you want to see and print out a wallet-sized schedule.
  • Information on places to get tetanus and rabies shots before entering chill-out lounge.
