DANCE INTENSIVE FOR ACTORS
You know you love to dance. Maybe you do it secretly, when no ones looking. Maybe only in your mind. Aren't you tired of stopping yourself because you think you don't have enough (or any training), you don't think you have technique or someone once told you have no rhythm or two left feet?

Enough. Come use your skills as an actor to find out just how much of a dancer you really are.

Thrice Barrymore nominated choreographer, Karen Getz, will be running a 3 weekend dance intensive for actors.

The intensive will focus on building and strengthening the actors dance skills, comfort level and confidence while exploring character and story through dance, from an actors perspective.

Dance styles will include ballet, samba, rhumba, cha-cha and others.

Karen is a thrice Barrymore nominated choreographer and improviser. Her most recent choreographic work includes; "The Big Bang" (Act II and The Kimmel Center), "Always a Lady" (1812), "Whores" (Interact) and "Grease" and "Grease and Desist" (Brat Productions/Tapestry Theatre.) She is co-artistic director of Tapestry Theatre and a member of the improvisational comedy groups, Comedysportz, Lunchlady Doris, Killer Pussy and Choosical. She is the recent recipient of a 2005/2006 grant from The Philadelphia Theatre Initiative (funded by the Pew Charitable Trusts and administered by the University of the Arts) and an Independence Foundation Fellowship in support of her upcoming comic, actors/ballet- "Suburban Love Songs."

I would love to do this, but Industrial Improv will be in Rhode Island the last weekend of March (that's what's up, bitches!!).

Someone I love needs to do this and tell me all about it.

Karen's class is highly recommended by me. I've taken her dance workshops before and it is a great way to learn basic and cool stuff, even with very little background in dance at all. The woman is amazing.

Without her, I would have never been able to play an oversexed, mambo-ing Cuban with nearly as much success.

Karen was in Dirty Dancing. She is the first person you see in Dirty Dancing. Her couple is the best couple. Her partner is the guy with the hat.
Karen is a good dancer and a good improvisor.
I recommend taking this class.
