Current Improv Crushes

Let’s take some time to appreciate what Ms. Amey Goerlich adds to our community. Her passion for the art and unique approach to teaching the Krompf really reinvigorated me to start performing again after losing some of the fire to do it recently.

Anybody that was at the Krompf Extravaganza, that she organized, at the Creek last night can testify that god damn that was a lot of people packed into that theatre with no aircon. Nobody cared, everybody was just freaking excited to perform and get to see others perform the pizza slice of a form that amazing team does best.

Anyway go Amey! You’re awesome, thanks for kicking off the DCM weekend right and making it so it’s not just the big theaters that teach our weird little art form.

That guy with the laugh
Anthony King....I know its a weird thing to say someone who is deeply established on both coasts and I have seen him perform when he was on Reuben a good amount of times but between seeing him in ADeez Nutz and Burglars this weekend, my mind is blown.

Burglars is the best 2prov set i have ever seen

**Also, i am in love with everyone in our community**

Burglars is the best 2prov set i have ever seen
That's good to know, because this was my first DCM, and I had not seen much longform, let alone 2prov, and I wondered if that was how it generally went, because Burglars was easily the most amazing improv I've ever seen (albeit within limited experience).

I literally had to leave the next show after a few minutes to process, and because Burglars was way too hard an act to follow. I went and ate and drank beer and texted the improvisers I knew who weren't there and posted "Holy Shit!" on Facebook, and I never curse there because my mother reads that, y'know.

And I tweeted about it, and Anthony King favorited my tweet, and that pretty much made my night.

So, good, it wasn't just me.

Greasy Lake continues to be consistent and hilarious.

Lindsay Calleran & Kiki Mikkelsen have a quickly-rising stock, trust me. Keep your eye out for their superb, energetic twoprov and terrific chemistry

Can't believe I missed the Ken Beck love fest that was going on here. I had the pleasure of putting together a bit show at DCM this year and you couldn't ask for a more supportive, hilarious human being.

You know who also is great? Liz Noth! Such a talented improviser!

Are you guys hip to Jared Eimicke yet? You should be. I'm in a Gavin Speiller class with him right now, and everyone in that class is great. Jared is cool as a cucumber in every scene I think though, nothing fazes that guy!

I have and always will be impressed by Chrissie Gruebel
Michael Short is one of the smartest players out there
Dani Grace, Sarah Naftalis, and Kara Mohr are going to be big time. I like the choices they make and how they commit to them.
Dan Silver is so goddamn funny

I'll echo Ryan's praises of Jared Eimicke. Dude plays one of the best straight mans I've seen.

Also in this class is Nick Ramirez. Holy shit, you guys. I can't get over how funny Nick is. He is one of the most "top of intelligence" savvy players in the game. Every scene he does is a winner.

Yo man, that class is full of all stars.

Nick Guercio is one of the funniest/craziest people I've ever seen take the stage. He's a great actor too, he sells all of his moves, as insane as they can be. Love that guy.

Nick Ramirez gives me the giggles.
