It's really hard to have an improv crush on an individual, so my number one crush is on the Swarm as a whole. Followed closely by Optimist International and Van Buren. And, more recently, Dillinger.
And I am utterly embarrassed to say I have yet to see Mother! Looking forward to that greatly.
But if I HAD to pick an individual, if I were under the improv gun and had to say a name or die, it would be Dave Blumenfeld. He's the most physically expressive performer I've seen, and one of the most soulful. And hilarious. And imaginative. He can make anything of a movement or gesture. And it's so natural, it seems he was born that way.
As for other individuals, if I start naming some, I feel like I'm leaving out others. And that includes not only people I've seen perform, but teachers, coaches, classmates. I'm crushed out and fortunate to have so many people to learn from, and so many "how the hell did that happen?" moments. Thanks to all of you.
