I just saw "The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee" at Second Stage and it's terrific! The NYC improv community's own Sarah Saltzberg is particularly fine as the tight-pigtailed, extremely driven daughter of two daddies. It was exciting to see a Documentary buddy singing and dancing in front of such a huge crowd in what is pretty likely to be a big hit.
The show is featured in this coming Sunday's Arts & Leisure as well.
I barely recognized Sarah until she said hi during the curtain call, which I was onstage for on account of having been a volunteer speller. That's fun, and if you see someone in the lobby pre-show looking for volunteers, step right up.
Good job Sarah!
