In the past year, three improv classmates (at least) have published books.

My Level 2 classmate Liz Gumbinner co-wrote Booty Food : A Date By Date, Nibble by Nibble, Course by Course Guide to Cultivating Love and Passion Through Food with Jacqui Malouf.

Another classmate from that class was conservative New York Post columnist John Podhoretz, who wrote the fantasy novel* Bush Country : How Dubya Became a Great President While Driving Liberals Insane.

And my Level 3 classmate David Schickler published his second novel, Sweet and Vicious, which I'm reading now. (You may have seen the posters for it all over the city.)

Congrats to all of you. Now I've really got to get work on my novel.

*Or "book of political commentary." You say potato....

Nor should we forget "The Reluctant Metrosexual: Dispatches From an Almost Hip Life" by Ali Farahnakian's sketchwriting student (when Ali still taught for UCB) Peter Hyman!

Ha! Yes. That's not a bit, folks. He played biblical figures about a dozen times in class. Loudly.

He's since been a guest on The Daily Show. Weird.
