Take a class with Armando Diaz. I recommend Instant Brilliance.

If you ever get a chance, take a workshop with Kevin Dorff.

I've heard good things about Gotham City Improv's classes, and I've heard VERY good things about Centralia's classes.

Jen Nails does a class at the PIT called Do It Yourself about writing your own one person show. I can't say enough about this class or Jen -- both are AMAZING!

I'm loving Ali's Improv Maga class at the PIT...

Improv and martial arts, together at last!!!

(BTW, if anyone wants to put together an improv and baseball fantasy camp, I'd have to guess it'd be just about perfect.)

I took the very first round in this class. She is amazing but tough as Nails! watch out!

Let me second the suggestions of Instant Brilliance and Improv Maga. I couldn't recommend either one more strongly. They're both fantastic.

I have to say, at this point in time, there really isn't a better improv teacher in NYC than Armando Diaz. Take his 'instant brilliance' class.

Friends of mine enjoyed Scott Wainio's workshop at the PIT.

Second City has a sketch revue class where you write a sketch show in 12 weeks using their improv-to-sketch method. Ours was a blast.

ALTERNATIVE TO UCB 1-4

This is ubiquitous, but:

You could also begin your own rehearsal group. There are a bunch of coaches out there that are really good. Christine Walters, and other members of Mother are really good. Sometimes having a rehearsal group that runs much longer than a class would, with a coach that knows you, can be very helpful....

Just took Armando's Harold Camp at The PIT and learned a lot from it. He gives great advice and sets up some really revealing exercises for you to work on. So that comes reccomended also.
