Hey there,
We are Mad Skillz and the Freak, a pair of improvisers from Chicago, Illinois. When we're not doing shows in Chicago, we travel around the country giving workshops and doing shows along with the groups we just taught. And that's the reason for this e-mail.
Is your long-form improv getting stale? Are you looking for a little "shake up"? Does your group need a brush-up from some hardened Chicago improv veterans who aren't afraid to "shoot it straight?" Maybe you're just looking for a little spice in your regular shows and feel like throwing in an outside touring group? Then we might have the remedy you are looking for.
MS&tF are Dan Antonucci and Steve Kaminski. The duo has performed together in several venues in Chicago, including The I.O. Theater (formerly Improv Olympic), Second City, the Playground and several others around the country including New York and Los Angeles. MS&tF have taught the "the Lottery" at the I.O Theater. The Lottery is a show where a student is randomly selected from each level of the training center, and then participates in a "Harold" with veterans throughout the Chicago improv community, also including guests from "Madtv", "The Daily Show", "Conan O'Brien" and "Saturday Night Live"! MS&tF have also taught workshops to improvisers from high school to college and independent troupes.
"A dynamic duo of improvisational doctrines. If you want to know exactly how you play as an individual or a group and what you can do to improve your performances then these are your guys." – Peter Robards and "Suspicious of Whistlers" St. Louis, MO.
Contacting Mad Skillz and the Freak is as easy as sending a reply to this email. Or, if you prefer, you can call (773) 301-9046 and leave a message or snail mail Steve Kaminski at 851 W Cornelia 2S, Chicago IL 60657.
Dan Antonucci can be seen playing with the longest running Harold team in the history of Improv Olympic, the incomparable "Deep Schwa", also on Thursday nights with the amazing five some "high five". Dan coaches "Let Them Ho's Fight" a four man group of great talent. Has been in too many productions over the years to mention but thinks Mad Skillz and The Freak is the greatest project he has been a part of. Go Huskies!
Steve Kaminski can be seen in Chicago performing on the I.O. Theater house team, "Mermen." Steve can also be seen with the independent groups "high five" and "Fatty Four Eyes." Steve has performed on numerous teams and has taught workshops in Chicago, Madison, and St. Louis, with "Fatty Four Eyes," "Cliffy," and MS&tF, and has taught classes at the I.O. training center. Steve currently coaches the I.O. Harold team "Night Fight" and is on the I.O. Harold Commission.
Once again, if you'd like to contact us, reply to this e-mail, call (773) 301-9046 and leave a message or snail mail Steve Kaminski at 851 W Cornelia 2S, Chicago IL 60657.
