Split Pillow is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the development and advancement of Chicago style improv film.
Based on the "Exquisite Corpse" game, Split Pillow's The Cliffhanger is a feature film collaboration unlike any other. The project was made in serial format with each of the 11 chapters written and directed by a different Chicago production team utilizing the same group of Chicago actors. The result is a wild ride that twists unpredictably through Chicago's streets as a myriad of characters form alliances and vendettas in a struggle for power. The storyline is continuous, but each chapter has its own unique style as filmmakers build upon each others' works in ways that are variously action-packed, dramatic, hilarious and disturbing. The only one of its kind, this fascinating motion picture is a must-see for all film buffs and fans of Chicago-made art.
