That's right, I may be the only Chicago coach in this forum but ask me if I'm intimidated by this. I mean, ask me in person at our super-fun rehearsal!
Here's my creds:
I performed at IO for a long time. 3 years. I finished their program and performed on a bunch of Harold teams, a bunch of upstairs shows, I won a shitload of Cagematches... and then I took a break. The schedule was just too random. Even when I was on Mourning in Denver and getting regular Friday slots, we'd have a random Sunday show out of nowhere with a day's notice and that kind of thing is just silly.
As far as leading improv, I've only coached two teams so far this year (my return!) but it's been great. I was a TA for Improv 1-3 at Columbia College Chicago and taught when the teacher was ill and there wasn't enough time to get a sub (and those of you who know what teacher ran the Columbia improv program in 1999 and 2000, you can guess this happened regularly). I have also directed several plays and written even more and worked in a group-directed scripted ensemble 7 times, most of them going on to get Highly Recommended or Critic's Choice in the Chicago Reader. I specialize in creating exercises, openings, and long-forms based on what the team wants. I rule.
Super affordable rates:
Always negotiable, but I charge $3 per person for groups of 5 or more. $4 per person for 4 people. $5 for duos and trios. This is FAR below the city standard, and this is because I understand that right now there are dozens of teams looking for a coach at any given time, most of them putting it off because it can be a huge weekly expense.
Right now I am available Saturday and Sunday mornings. PM for additional times or questions. Peace.
