Cash Test Dummies longform improv competition returns this Spring to the Brick Theater in Williamsburg, Brooklyn with Cash Test Dummies II: Even More Dumb!
Last year, the winning team 'That Annoying Couple' walked away with nearly $900 in cash AND a giant check!
This year, however, the competition will be tougher! 32 teams will enter from all improv walks of life: House teams, Indy team, Musical Teams, 2-person teams, all are free to enter.
If you weren't involved with or didn't see any of the season 1 CTD- the shows were super fun, sold out every time, and that sold out audience voted for the winner. The winners advanced through to the next round, single elimination NCAA bracket-style, until the final championship round. Fun right? (yes). And it produced some really amazing improv too (seriously).
Alright then, so you want to enter. This what you need to do-

-Team Name
-Team members
-Team website or link(s)
-Classification if you can classify yourselves (House team, indy, musical, etc.)
Priority will go to teams who were already entered into the 1st CTD and the rest of the entries will be first come first served, but special consideration will be given to well-established teams, followed by a wait list.

The 1st show will be on Wednesday Mar. 23. All shows will be on Wednesday nights. All shows wll take place at the Brick Theater at 575 Metropolitan Ave. Brooklyn, NY 11211. Map it. It's steps to the Lorimer L subway and that means 5 minutes to Union Sq. Don't be afraid of Brooklyn. At each show, 50% of the ticket sales will be put into a pot. This pot will grow after each show and in the end the 1st place winner will win 98% of the pot. The second place winner will receive 2% of the pot. Because that's much funnier. If you are on 2 different teams which have entered, don't worry that's fine- you just cannot play yourself, so if that instance were to arise you need to pick one team or the other to continue the contest with. In order to prevent teams from entering and then dropping out at the last minute, we ask for a small deposit of $50 to ensure your commitment to playing which will be returned when you show up for your performance. Audience votes for the winners and that vote is final and cannot be disputed. In the event of a tie, the show's host will cast the tie-breaking vote. All shows are BYOB so brownbag those 40's and enjoy. If you need piano accompaniment, that's fine just let us know in advance.
