Cacoëthes scribendi Or... Alea iacta est.

Howdy,
I'm Will, this is my journal. I'm Twenty, sophmore equivalent at Uni. Though for now I've taken a semester or two off of college to work and gain experience. I live at home for now, it's hard to find a nice apartment for the right price these days. You might wonder about my journal's title, 'cacoëthes scribendi' is Latin it translates loosely to "an incurable itch to write" and 'Alea iacta est' is probably something most of you have heard before, it's also latin and translates to "the die has been cast" something Caesar said when he crossed the Rubicon river and attacked Rome. I feel both of these relate to my journal, I feel the need to write, and after it's begun, I can't take it back, so, there ya go.

I started here by perusing the journals, lately I've talked to Theresa (punkydolz) on AIM and she pretty much forced me to start my own. It's cool though I don't think my journal would be near as interesting as some people who post here, but I'll give it a shot.

Hmm today, pretty boring day today, texted Jessica the Bartender and asked her if she wanted to go out tonight but didn't get a reply, she's probably working.

Jess the B was my best friend at my old job, she bartended and I was chief steward at the biggest hotel in the state, which was fun, but if any of you have had stewarding experience you know it's hard work, boring, long hours, little respect, chemical burns (ouch it hurts) and well, I suppose there was a thing or two that was good, insane amounts of free food, lots of free stuff from the conventions that came to the hotel, but overall I think these two icons sum it up, :puke: :exp:

Anyway, It's time to watch a dvd or play a game. It was nice meeting you.

smells like me spirit

Mmm I'm shower fresh, don't you like that? fresh out of the shower nice and clean feeling. goodstuff® on to today's business, there is none. noon on monday and I don't wanna do anything but listen to music all day and search the net for jobs, okay so that's doing something but don't tell anyone. Maybe I'll go send a package to larajane, she's a good friend of mine who lives in london, england yeah you heard me, england! I've been meaning to send her a package for like 10 months, but i never had the balls to get it together and send it! I always revised it and added something, oh well, I think it's about ready, one homemade invention and a few store bought goodies I think she'll appreciate it. She'd best send me a good package too, or I'll hunt her down and stalk her down and tie her up.

Listening to Phantom Planet - Anthem. It's a good song, I enjoy Phantom Planets music. as I said I have just taken a shower, but you don't know i'm still naked.... wait yes you do... oh well. Cat's out of the bag. hey! stop staring at me! my face is up here!!! geez, can't have you all leering at my genetalia like that, it's only the second date! :tsk:

time to put some clothes on and cause some havoc!

Gah, went to the dentist today, I have 2 cavities, goddamned things, and of course even though it's obvious the dentist SEES the cavities he must absolutely must prod and poke in there all he can, just to make sure. I'd like to poke and prod his brain with a burning hot tire iron, see how he likes it. Chatted awhile about job security with the nurse who was cleaning my teeth, I told her how I lost my job at the Renaissance and was looking for new work, and she told me how outrageous the room prices were, which I'm inclined to agree with, the suites were like $119 a night on a good night and more like $190 a night regularly... the presidential suite was upwards of $800 a night. Which is insane, even though you get a conference room and a jacuzzi and other posh treatments, it's just a bloody hotel, get a room at the Super 8 motel down the road, it's cheaper and probably just as good.

James called me at like 10am wondering if I'd come work for him awhile while he works at Hilti, he was putting together a few hundred new hire packets and wanted to know if i wanted to make some $$ for a bit to help him, I'm not really sure what he asked was legal, but I said I could do it after my appt. after which I called him and he said he probably didn't need my help after all, but will call me later tonight, damn him, giving me the prospect of money. But on the bright side, his family invited mine over to their condo in Breckenridge, Co. in July, which will be fun if I go, and craparific if I don't, I hope to go.

haven't heard back from Jessica the Bartender yet, she's forgetful tho and will remember to call this week.
I visited the post office after the appt. they say I can't ship pesticides internationally, so how the hell am I supposed to send LaraJane her spider spray now?! ARGH! stupid mail bombers and terrorists, making it hard for me to ship poisonous insecticides internationally.

ahh well
such is love

ohhh man am I tired, I've been trying to redo my sleep schedule and I'm forcing myself to stay up all day today and get to sleep nice and early tonight, my old schedule was like, go to sleep at 5am wake up at 4pm some crap like that. When I'm not working or at school my sleep schedule is total crap, I sleep horribly odd hours, like the opposite of what it should be. But today I should change a bit.

Went out with my mom and hit up the mall and mervyn's and linens n things today got new bedsheets and comforters and bedskirts and pillow cases, I'm in love with my new stuff, it's SO comfortable and khaki and it just rocks my socks, the old one was worn through and had been with me for like 5 years, it was definately time for new stuff.

I've been thinking about going back to school lately but totally changing my degree, it's sad to say but I'm thinking about getting into teaching, my family has a history of teaching, my grandfather and grandmother worked at schools (as superintendent and a history teacher) my Uncle is a superintendent of the same school my grandfater was, my father is a principal at a local elementary, my mom also works for the school. I have several other family members that are in schooling. I've tried to stay away from it, but I can't deny I've always loved children, I taught summer school 1st grade for three years and I really enjoyed that also, it's a hard profession, but you are doing the ultimate good, you are shaping the future, and I have an undeniable feeling in me that I want to be a part of that.

We'll see what happens, I'll keep you updated.
here's a Sinfest for you and for Theresa

Yarr Mateys, I be sailing the high seas!

or... sitting in my chair here, I dunno which.

Fun day yesterday, besides waking up at a decent hour, got together with James and Ben and James' g/f Audrey and went over in town to the Thursday night concert, there was an amazing amount of people there, it gets bigger every summer, lots of fun, good music, lots of people watching and dogs and kids and just crazy fun time for families. went back to Audreys and hung out awhile before being so tired I almost fell asleep there, then I couldn't find my damn keys, found them eventually in James' 4runner. Came home slept blissfully and woke up sleepy a few hours ago.

Jessica my Ex girlfriend (not Jessica the Bartender) emailed me yesterday, wanting to catch up, we keep in touch fairly well, I love her to death still, even though we're seperated and rarely see each other (maybe at church or if I go out of my way to stop by her work) Her and I are quite a long story, she's my first love, highschool sweetheart, first kiss (among other things  ) and a great girl. I'm glad we are still friends, it was a long and really shitty road to get where we are now, (mostly shitty for me, she broke up with me, looong story, not traumatic, just... depressing) but we're friends, and we get along famously. So it's all good I guess. =\

Today is going to rock, after James gets off work we're going boonin' in his 4runner there's one or two places that are great for mud bogging around town, so we'll see what happens, I told everyone I was throwing a party this weekend at my house, so tomorrow should kick ass, big barbecue, firepit, games, girls, music, lotta fun. if you want to come just pm me  you gotta bring a girl for me tho, I am in dire need of some lovin'

have a day!

The day of 111,111.111 was yesterday and if that doesn't make sense to you then fine, cause it shouldn't. The only reason yesterday was the day of 111,111.111 is because our friend Petes 4Runner was on 111,111 miles and we were driving on 111th street. We all assumed this was a bad omen and we were to die, so we spent the whole mile of 111,111 screaming our heads off like banshees. Alas the 4Runner didn't blow up and we didn't die... yet... that incident was after 18 holes of frisbee golf and one Hulk popsicle. I decided throwing the frolf discs the regular way was uncool, and it was cutting my hand up, so I started overhand pitching it and yep, 15 years of baseball and 5 of pitching pays off, I beat everyone by just hurling the disc like a beast and barely aiming. yay me.

So, James' 4Runner is done with it's oil change so we go to pick it up, leaving my car, bens car, and pete's 4Runner at Pete's apartment. The reason for this is we want to go booning. Mmm booning. 4x4's mud and big big hills. fun stuff. We go to one place near the municipal airport in town, it's been blocked off, but 4x4 people don't care and make their own paths around, we take a drive down into this place and there's some dirt bikers and what looks to be a drug deal going down heh, there's always a drug deal going down when we go back there it's insane. So we just drive the course once, go back out and turn around another way and hit the steep hills once, nearly drowning our two back passengers (we took the top off the 4Runner) hehe =P

So that was fun but not enough for us, I reccommend we drive over near my neighborhood and the industrial plant for there is lots more boonin' and 4 wheelin' to be found. I tell james where to drive and when we get there the however many thousand acre place is now fenced off! oh no! oh yes! I get james to drive around a service gate back to some odd little building and then to our surprise the fence ends halfway back, so we go off road! After driving a non-path path for awhile we run across a huge ditch/creek that is standing water, its way too steep to make it out the other side, so we decide to go to the left to a shallower part and knock some trees over in the ensuing speed down and up the other side, all goes well, on to the next set of challenges, one or two deep water speed drive throughs later, we start hill climbing, get to the top which is just barely as long as the 4runner was and almost fall over the other side!!! scary! we drive down one side and circle around to go back up and down the other side, well here's where the fun begins... once we get down we see another standing water/need to speed through to make sure you don't get stuck part, well we speed into it, but ... it's about 4 feet deep on the right side, my side, yep you guessed it, splash straight down into the water, left side high up right side wheels covered in mud. we're stuck. James throws it into overdrive and we start going back and forth back and forth never letting the car sit still long enough to go deeper, well the engine is flooding, the car starts making noises that are horrible to hear, smells I can't imagine, it won't go over 1700 rpms if it does it loses power, ahhhh we're sinking!!! ahhhhhh!!! keep going in reverse! ahhh! after about a half hour of back and forth the car starts coming out backwards.... yay we're making it!
we finally get the damned thing out and it's flooded and crapped up and covered by an inch or so of mud all over. We turn the car off and get out to survey the damage.no physical harm done to the outside or tires that we can see, the engine is fucked though. We let it sit awhile and go look for ways to get out easily that we don't hvae to go back through the hellholes we came in through. I walk off to look and they move the car up the dirt road some to get it leaking and drying. I find a decent way and they get the truck movin' (crappily) and we drive around for another half hour trying to get out, since the place is fenced ina nd the only non fenced way out is the way we came, that was a no go, finally we come upon a place or two where people have broken out fence posts and tried to get in or out, we found one that was ripped out but still had barbed wire fence across it, so we looked around for ways to get out and found a matress (the place is sorta like a dump for shit) and we drag the mattress on top of the barbed wire, drive over and woosh! off we go, flinging mud and shit everywhere. We drive to my house, not going over like 25 mph, wash out his engine and car, for like an hour, and start driving back to Petes to get our other cars. Well we don't let it go over 1700 rpms for a few miles, then finally gun it and guess what IT WORKS!!! we have defeated the day of 111,111.111 again! yay! take that bad karma!!!

Get to pete's and guess what, my car won't start... damn you 111,111.111, my battery died, because my headlights didn't go off when I opened my car door several hours earlier... goddamned car, supposed to go off when I get out. So, James hooks his battery up to mine and we start charging it, for like an hour and a half, it's getting late so the barbecue looks like it's in trouble, since I'm the cook. I call my dad, he comes over and when he gets there the car starts, so I didn't need to call dad. oops. Finally, like 7pm I get home, jump ni the shower, start the coals, start the fire pit, start the lamps, get the food ready, people start to come over, bringing chips, dip, pop, ice, yadda yadda yadda. Many friends are out of state so only about 8 people showed. Still lots of fun, we played with the airsoft guns, made Smores for dessert, sat around the firepit awhile and went inside to play the PS2 for awhile. Then everyone headed home. the day of 111,111.111 had come to an end, no serious injuries, no harm done to the cars, everyone lived! huzzah! it was a success!!!

Such a long day, I fell into bed like a sleepy lil boy and drifted off to dream land.

Sunday was lazy, like i like it. I helped my father build a brick wall in front of our house a retaining wall thing. looks super freakin' cool.

and here I am, storytelling time. Here's a picture of James' 4Runner, pre-washing, look how the engine is brown, that's not good. lol. and on his antenna is a straw I put there 3-4 days ago. yeah still there. we love his car, and often speculate it's made of wood, because it creaks loudly.

Enjoy!

ahhh sorry for not updating guys, I've been pretty busy, looking for work, hanging out with all my friends while they are still in town. been sleeping like a madman,so tired lately also. Thinking of getting my A+ certification just for giggles, it would help somewhat with my graphics design degree. As for that I suppose this fall I'll be working and taking a class or two, then hopefully getting full into classes again in the spring. tres fun.

off to have adventures and pillage the european coast. (or shuffle around the house, I dunno which yet)

So, I've had my picture up on Hot or Not for I dunno, since last fall I think, someone took a picture of me that I had given them and signed me up for the website as a joke, well it backfired on them I think... I've had 2006 votes for me, which is shibby, and what I'm amazed at is after 2006 votes, is that I'm still a 9.9. yeah you heard it, 9.9 , I dunno how, but I guess thats a good indication to me I shouldn't be as shy as I am around the opposite sex sometimes. Apparently they find me attractive *gasp* :p If you wanna see my page, I suppose I could post it, I dunno PM me and give an opinion.

Hell, I've been lazy lately, besides hanging with friends, job hunting (minimally because I don't want to get a job just yet, in a week and a half I'm going to Breckenridge, Co for a vacation and don't want a job before then) I've been not doing much.

My friend Tim is a 2nd degree black belt and he's teaching us Tae Kwan Do basics, we play frisbee golf and ultimate frisbee a lot, run around shooting each other with our airsoft guns, concerts and movies. ahh Summer.

saw Pirates of the Caribbean the other day, man it's a great movie, I loved it, Depp is over the top without being TOO over the top. great fun. go see it!

Welp, time to go find me a girlfriend (I will fail)

Howdy howdy.

Applied for a graphics internship job at a local tv station, so there's my job obligation for the week :p they dont have a current intern for that department so I might just get it!

Met a girl the other night, she's a cutie and thinks I'm the slickest thing since ice rinks, she's a bit younger than I am, but I'm not too concerned about that, it's all in good fun right now.

downloaded Pirates of the Carib so I have it on my pc now as well as having seen it in the theater, it was just that good =P Bought two new cd's today, they'll be delivered in a day or two, both of them are Flogging Molly CD's I got Drunken Lullabies and Swagger. Great cd's can't wait till they get here.

I found a paycheck yesterday, for $413 dollars, behind my trashcan in my room, I have no idea how it got there, but I totally freaked out when I found it, as you can imagine, 413 bucks for anyone is a good thing. I really needed it! glad I found it, as they expire after 90 days =\ got it just in time! that money will help pay for classes this fall.

Things are lookin' up, found a new girl / friend, job options opening, plans being made and all that good stuff. hurrah!

also, my ex jessica wants to get together this afternoon to catch up, I haven't given her an answer yet, I might wait for another date this week or weekend. I'm still kinda scared to talk to her, nerves and all.

much love.

So, I'm starting to see this journal as more of a weekly thing than a daily thing for now, I'm really not doing interesting things on a daily basis right now. Mostly at home online chatting, i've met several ladies my age lately and have had lots of fun chatting and getting to know them, I have a date or two lined up when I Get back from colorado next week...

speaking of colorado, on saturday I'm going on vacation with my friends to breckenridge (for all you stalkers out there I dunno where in breck  ;) ) but we're going out to hang and rock climb and camp out, it should be a freaking blast, a summer road trip is just what I need.

still job hunting, still looking at classes, still alone lol. happy though, having a good time meeting people and looking for love!

keep it real!
