Hooray!

It is a lottery. But these things do work, even if they take time. Very often, listings like this are in the Daily News for low/moderate income housing in upper Manhattan or outer boroughs (I don't know if there's a centralized spot for them, but I will keep looking).

Yeah, Curbed does have a focus on high-end real estate new, so you get a fair share of dicky commentors. They (the blog, not the commentors) also have a good amount of snark about the tanking RE market. It's a good read overall.
