bomb threat on 57th?

my office faces 57th street, and there seems to be a bomb on the street in front of my building (5th and 6th).

it was a suitcase on the street, the guy just came and cut it up and now all the stuff is strewn all over the sidewalk. looks like 57th will live to see another day.

that being said, the guy who came and cut it up was dressed in full chemical and bomb protective stuff, and that was effing scary looking.
