Best Comedy Actors in NYC

Hi there,

If this thread already exists, let me know.
I think this would be useful for general casting purposes when trying to cast a video or sketch.

Who do you think are the best (non tv/movie famous) actors in the NY comedy community?

Can you suggest
Men
Women

And since casting often considers races, looks, archetypes and ages - if you think of people who are good under specific categories - just if it comes to mind - like "such and such person is the best old black lady actor!"
Trying to be practical, sorry for the objectifcation.

oh also, any qualifications about the actors and their range (like this one can be really real, this one is good at voices, this one can sing) is also super helpful

Ok, I get it - some of you are resistant to pick people out?
But let me make one last attempt at starting up discussion by naming some names of talent I noticed for their acting skill.

Here are *some* folks that I've noticed are strong actors:
Trevor Williams
Jake Goldman
Maggie Sanford
Baron Vaughn
Eliza Skinner
Glennis McMurray
Jenny Slate
Brian Barrett
Dan Gregor
Eli Newell
Donald Glover
... I could really go on.

There's a whole lot of great talent - but some UCB performers are greater for their writing skill than acting skill. I wanna think about who really kicks ass when it comes to their performance. The more obscure the better! From UCB or beyond.

I don't think it's resistance, so much as there are so many people to list that it's easier to just direct someone to a website. Depending on the needs of your sketch you are not always going to be looking for the same thing, so just listing the "best" actors doesn't really help anyone anyway.

so many people to list obviously, but because it's off the top of my head and i just watched her videos...

eliza skinner as an over the top embarrassing mother figure (karen in the dorm i think?). it was sooo good in her solo show and just as good on vid.
