Eric Davis is one of the premiere Improvisation, Clown, and Movement instructors in New York. He currently teaches at the People’s Improv Theatre (which was declared “Best Local Development in Comedy” by Time Out New York and “Best Improv Lessons in New York” by New York Magazine), where his highly popular class had been filled to capacity since its inception.
Mr. Davis has been an improviser and teacher for over 12 years, having taught in Belgium, Ireland, London, Canada and the States. He has studied with Master Clown Instructors such as Philippe Gaulier, David Gaines, Stephen Buescher, and Moshe Cohen. He has also studied with Canadian instructor, Sue Morrison, whose Native American Clowning approach is being heralded as a breakthrough in contemporary performance styles.
He has taught a variety of ages from Kindergarten to Fortune 500 Executives as well as Maximum Security Juvenile Youths.
Eric’s clown and bouffon work has been seen all over New York’s exploding Vaudeville, Variety and Burlesque scene. His work has been sought after by The Late Show with David Letterman and has been photographed by some of the world’s top photographers, including Fashion photographer Stephane Sedanoui.
