Archive Journals?

There are a ton of great journals that have been put to bed, so to speak. So I was wondering if maybe when people decide to end one, and say they reached a certain required number of posts or duration of tiem between them they could have them locked and put in a separate forum called "Archived Journals" or "Journal Vault" or some fun cornball thing like that. Then maybe you could organize them alphabetically or something, but giving them their own special "alumni"status would be great, because some really old, long, fun, well written journals are geting buried deep in the pages of the journal forums, and deeper every day.

Hmm... a hall of fame for old journals... Any suggestions as to what should be included? I think "True Porn Clerk Stories" and "My Daily Beverage" would be my first two suggestions.

Also to be included:

Around the World with Dan Dunford
Mediocrity
Love, Drill Press
The Corner
the army of the republic
long, cold, lonely winter

The authors should be able to veto me, I suppose, but maybe not! I just hope you find a way to get something like this going. I think the submission guidelines ought to be up to you.

I think this is a fantastic idea.

One requirement to get into the Hall of Fame, I think, would be that the author has officialy ended the journal -- i.e. when a journal is put in the Hall of Fame, mullaney locks it.

Yes, DK! I think the lock sets it apart from a "thread" per se. That's why I also suggested an alphabetical option, like the member list. One of the things that I like about this idea is making it easier to navigate as a perk. Maybe a drop down of all the different journals? If the drop down got long, you could adapt it so you can hit "K" and the drop down skips to the journals starting with that letter.
