Now, Derek Gordon, who are you? Are you a comic, agent or writer? Are you part of the "shadow government"? What kind of expertise are you drawing on for these awards?

I'm not questioning the talent of the emerged, I'm just curious.

(it is not possible to ask a person who they are without sounding like a bee-yatch, but seriously, who???)

Yes I do have a sketch comedy background. I produce a weekly show called the big night out that will be monthly this summer. But I have been going to comedy shows all over the city for the last four years and I got tired of seeing allot of talanted people bust thier ass night in and night out with little or no reconition. I am not affiliated with any scene in particular. I just like comedy and started this show because I think this is the best comedy scene in the world so why not honor it. The people that voted on the winners was everyone in the scene I had the producers of LUNA , people from Riffi, People from above Kleptomainia, People, from UCB Ars NOVa and the Pit. Not to mention I recieved over 900 nomination forms and over 2000 votes for the finalists. For the first show I think it was very well rounded. Next the show will be even more representive of the entire scene. I am actually looking for spoters,people who will go and see shows year around and make suggestions of nominees people we may be overlooking. This show rocked the house. Honestly, much thanks to Derek, Jon, Paul, Dannah, and everyone else who made this hilarious show and awesome after-party possible.

A great time was had by all, or, at the very least, me.

Also, I totally vouch for Derek. Derek put together a great show. Hey merf, what are you freaking credentials? Yeah, that's right, bee-yotch. I said credentials. SNAP!
