Allow me to introduce myself

Hello Everyone!

My name is Mark Bringhurst. I just discovered this site yesterday and want to quickly jump on board. I am a member of the Delaware Comedy Theatre (home of Delaware TheatreSports), but I also am involved as much as possible in the Philly improv scene. Before joining DCT, I trained for several years in ComedySportz's improv classes with such instructors as Bobbi Block, Mary Carpenter, and Dave Dritsas (and this is where I met Greg Maughan as well). I attended the workshop this past Saturday which was taught by Matt Holmes and had a blast. I am also currently involved in the long form classes being taught by Bobbi Block. My goal is to keep my ties in Delaware for all of my short form needs, but also to join an exisiting long form group (or help develop a new one) here in Philly. There's some amazing things happening here that I need to get in on!!!

Hey Mark, welcome aboard!!
It was great to meet you at the workshop on Saturday, and I had a lot of fun in our scenes. I'm glad you are diving in head first here, we need more of that! I didn't get a chance to talk to you afterward b/c we ran long, but I run a site and newsletter (PhillyImprov.com) that promotes all the shows, classes, auditions and other improv events happening in the city. We'd definitely want to see you out at the shows, and there are tons of people that'll be excited to meet you and introduce you around. If you want to get on the newsletter to keep up on everything, just PM me with your email address.

Again, good to meet you, and hope to see you around!

Thanks, Matt

Thanks, Matt. I'm already receiving the newsletter and am on your website quite often. I was very happy to see you at the workshop. Was a big fan of your work at the Improv Festival!

Well as many may attest... if you are a big fan of my work, then you are starting in Philly way behind the curve. ;) Thanks...

Everyone needs to meet Mark, he's a really talented improvisor - and he should start a group of his own! Yeah for growing the Philly scene!

I just want to thank you, Mark for talking about me like I'm some big-time improv guy. I feel like Owen Burke or Jackie Clark.

Who is Owen Burke?
Google results:
"Owen Burke is a comedian/actor/writer/improvisor and all around good dude. His website is coming soon."
http://www.owenburke.com/

He performs at UCBT.

Where as Matt Holmes, according to Google: "is now in an amazing second place overall, a mere 23 points behind the competition leader Steven Price, closely followed by Alistair Tullett in 7th place approximately 140 points behind."
and apparently he enjoys spandex...

Greetings everyone! I can vouch for Mark having worked with him & seen him in action. Somebody get him on board besides DCT! If I was recruting, I'd solicit him (in a totally legal way)! I'd start a group just for Mark, or donate an organ, or blood. Forgive me, I don't usually gush (or blush). I made an intro speech in the General Intro area. Salutations everyone!

hi, i didn't have anything to say that wasn't lame. i still don't have anything to say that isn't lame, but i still wanted to say HELLO improv strangers i haven't met! i would like to introduce myself to you, human-bag to human-bag, but until then we will meet on the internet! i am alexis i am in rare bird show with Wholmes and nathanly, and comedysportz with a lot of people superior to me, and i try to stick my nose into business where it doesn't belong everywhere else, so woot!

i am glad to see new names posting in the philly boards, i am getting sick of Wholmes' use of capital letters and mcfarland telling everyone how handsome he is.

just want to say publicly, it's great to have you at fakehouse. your radio interv w loki was just super. will be nice to get pizza afterward next time.

and what commitment from loki, btw.

you know it's a funny thing about incubator. the decision when-to-stop is usually pretty circumstancial, like two people have another event, or it's getting pretty late. It's never, "yeah, I'm done". nice.

That was a really fun scene. And the Taco Bell food fight with Alli rocked.

Even tho it's my handle, it looks strange to be called Loki... ha!

And if you all can imagine, I went a whole night of doing scenes w/o my hands on my hips. I guess it's time for Rick to topple that statue of me he has.
