acquiring network address what the hell????

hey i need some help here.

i have my own network in my apartment, every now and then (now) it will say it is connected to my network (its wireless) then it will say "Acquiring network address" for ever and it will never connect. i tried shutting my internet/modem and restarting and it doesn t matter. i can only get on to public unlocked networks, but i am paying for my own damn account...does anyone know how to fix this? is it a network thing? or is it a setting on my computer?

Just string an ethernet deal through the corners of your place. If you don't feel like doing that, go to their Web site and see if they have any patches or updates to download. If that doesn't work, please PM me and I'll give you another way to do it that I probably shouldn't post here.
