TWO different competitions - One for shortform and one for longform! ($1,000.00 in total prize money provided all 32 slots are filled!)

This is where all the info will be for registering but mark your calendars for the 2nd annual Comedy Improv Throw Down. August 19-21 at the Harrisburg Comedy Zone. Last year's champions ShawnMikael(s) will be performing Friday night at 10:30 at the Harrisburg Comedy Zone as well as teaching one of our many workshops. Rumor has it registration is going to be $100 per team wishing to compete and $20 per person at the door for 3 days filled with improv competitions, workshops, evening shows and drinking with other improv troupes all weekend! Ask any of the 16 teams who were here last year and they'll all tell you it was one of the best venues they've ever played in! Park Friday night and you don't have to get in your car until you're heading home Sunday night! Everything is on site and YOUR Improv ALL ACCESS Pass is only $20 per troupe member for the weekend! Come with part of your troupe or all of your troupe or come by yourself!

Two great restaurants right on property, a fully stocked bar and a hotel all right here at the Harrisburg Comedy Zone. We are offering discounted room rates like last year, for anyone coming to stay both nights for the festival.

If you're interested in competing this year, please register ASAP before we're full! There will be a cut off as soon as we reach 16 troupes for each competition (32 total). If we have to limit or cut off troupes the time stamp on your email will be the deciding factor.

This year we will be judging in two different categories. One for longform and the other shortform so when you register, please specify if you are registering for shortform or longform. You can not compete in both categories. Pick your strongest category and bring your A game to our field!

Forgot to mention the Harrisburg Comedy Zone is a 200 seat venue! Make your plans early. Last year we had to turn several teams away because we just didn't have enough time in the weekend for all of the people who wanted to compete!

If you're in doubt, talk to ANY of the people that were here last year! We're all really friendly and make great hosts!

Hope to see a bunch of new and returning teams!

David Warick just agreed to be our main judge

Judge number 1 is David Warick an expert in the field of improvisation.
He will be judging based on any longform / shortform technical matter.

David Warick has worked as a professional actor, improviser, teacher and
writer for over fifteen years. He is a member of SAG, Actors Equity, the
Writer's Guild and the Motion Picture Screen Cartoonists Guild.

After graduating from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts he trained and
performed with The Groundlings, The Second City LA, and Los Angeles
Theatresports for over ten years. At Los Angeles Theatresports he regularly
performed in the groundbreaking long-form show, TRIPLE PLAY. He later wrote
for Paramount, Fox and Walt Disney Television and was a story analyst for
Artisan Entertainment, IFC, Avenue Pictures and director Michael Mann.

David has taught improv to adults, teens and kids on both Coasts. In Los
Angeles, he developed the popular teen improv stage show LAUGH OUT.

In July 2005, David founded the Delaware Comedy Theatre. In addition to
teaching workshops and classes for DCT, he has also served as director for
the sold-out shows "A Chili Sumo Christmas" and "Cupid Shoots Self In Foot."

In addition to his theatrical work, David is a founder of Ziksana Consulting
- a firm that specializes in using improvisation for corporate training.

WHAT STUDENTS SAY ABOUT DAVID:
"He is a God." - "He really expanded my knowledge and beliefs about what
> good improv could be." - "WONDERFUL energy and a terrific personality" -
"Dave was awesome."

I have heard the most amazing things about MishMash and at this point I feel like I'm the jerk for not having seen them play.

ShawnMikael(s) staggeringly great improvisers and their group mind is amazing.

I can't speak for Just Moxie, and I'm a worse person for it.

Marc and I had a meeting with the owner of the comedy zone this afternoon. Throw down dates are confirmed. We will be offering discount room rates for anyone staying on property for the entire festival Friday - Sunday. If you're looking for a "good time," $20 for a weekend full of improv workshops and shows is a bargain! Good food, lots of drinks and plenty of improv actors hanging out and helping each other get better at what we all love to do! Even if you don't have a troupe ready to compete, EVERYONE interested in improv will get far more that $20 worth of entertainment and training August 19-21, 2011 in Central PA!

Hope to see a bunch of new faces this year at the 2nd annual Comedy Improv Throw Down at the Harrisburg Comedy Zone!

Keith

I was in one of last year's troupes (Fling) and had a great time. (We're also registered for this year.) ShawnMikael(s) was unbelievable. MishMash was a lot of fun. I'm always amazed by musical improv.
